Guaranteed.Ĭompanies like COMCAST have been caught countless times not providing correct bandwidth, doctoring speed results, and overall lying about performance.Īnd don't ever trust their bullshit "No, you're not guaranteed those speeds. The guys saying "Trust your ISP" are shills. But the ISP reported around 99% of the speed I was quoted. I ended up using a dozen different speed test sites and they all pointed to the same general result, which was a something like 1/3 the speed I should be getting. I caught my ISP's speed test site returning inflated and factually incorrect results. ISP-owned sites will also report back false readings. Many will put priority on speed testing sites, meaning the performance you get going to will be far different than your results when downloading a game from Steam.
